On September 11, 2024, HARMAN ExPLORE in Tokyo took place at Trunk Hotel Tokyo, a trendy and cozy city hotel in Harajuku, a hub of cross-cultural exchange in Tokyo where new cultures are constantly being created. This modern setting served as the perfect venue to unveil HARMAN Brands' latest cutting-edge technology and product lineup designed to complement modern lifestyles.
Beyond JBL, the event showcased products from Harman Kardon, ARCAM, and even the Automotive division. This expanded scope attracted a diverse audience, including not only audio-specialized media but also lifestyle, automotive, interior design, and home-related publications, as well as various types of influencers. In total, 80 media and influencers, along with 55 dealers and partner companies, attended the event.
One of the highlights of the event was the launch of the MA series and Stage 2 series. A suite at Trunk Hotel was transformed into a showcase, featuring a 5.1.4ch setup using MA9100HP and Stage 2 series. This demonstration highlighted the sleek design that complemented the hotel's modern style, along with the immersive Dolby Atmos demo by the JBL’s professional sound.
Guests were divided into small groups of six and received a comprehensive demonstration. Mr. Kenta Negi handled the Atmos demo, while Mr. Hirohito Fujita, a Sound Evangelist, provided technical details. This efficient approach ensured that all guests, despite the large number, had a seamless experience and a clear understanding of JBL's vision.
The MA series has garnered significant attention from specialized media. Its clean white design with orange accents, along with the album art display and Japanese-language support on the front panel display, have been particularly well-received. Overall, the feedback on the MA series, including its pricing, has been positive.
As Japan is also the home base of renowned audio companies, competition is expected to be fierce. However, we will continue to strongly promote the MA and Stage 2 series as "Professional sound in a style that fits modern living".
