Managing Roon Hardware Product Strategy

It has been five months since the announcement of HARMAN acquiring Roon Labs. As is the case with any acquisition, there is a period of time devoted to integrating the two company’s teams into one.
Last month’s newsletter featured an update from Enno Vandermeer which highlighted the reasons that HARMAN and Roon Labs joined forces to create a better listening experience for music lovers.
With the music listener experience at the top of the priority list, the leadership of Roon Labs will focus 100% of their resources and time devoted to software enhancements to the platform. That focus required a different team to focus on the hardware side of the business.
I am excited to share that the Luxury Audio business unit will assume the role of managing the quality, logistics, supply chain, and product development of future Roon products. We will also assume the role of providing training on the two new Roon products; the Titan and One products that were recently announced to the public.
Since Roon had their own dealers and distributors in place prior to the acquisition, we will need to review the list of distribution partners globally to make sure that we are providing consumers the best possible outlets to purchase Roon products. Starting next month, we will be meeting with existing Roon partners to better understand their past experiences and what they would prefer to see improved with HARMAN Luxury Audio overseeing this product. I know that many of our existing Luxury Audio dealers and distributors have expressed interest in offering the Roon hardware in their product portfolios and we will work with the regional sales teams to determine how best to accommodate these requests.
The first product that we will be supporting is the Roon Nucleus Titan, dubbed as “the ultimate Roon server.”
