With Meet The HARMAN Luxury Team, our goal is for you to get to know us better. In each edition we feature a different member of the team, and this month it's Lisa Hu.
How would you describe what you do in your current role?
I’m in the Global Supply Chain department and focus on fulfilling demand, as well as balancing supply and inventory. I work with teams (BU, Regions & Sourcing) to optimize supplier scope, SKU reduction, etc.
What did you study in school? Did you always imagine yourself doing something like what you’re doing now or did the fates just take you in that direction?
My major is accounting, and I received an MBA degree at Shenzhen University in 2017.
Before joined HARMAN, I was working as a marketing specialist and had worked closely with
key customers at APC (America Power Conversion) and GN Group located in Denmark. My major responsibility was to provide quotations on new projects and secure the NPI (new product introduction) launch. My current job with HARMAN is my favorite as I get to know the suppliers better, which will help me to secure supply and sales.
In my first job at HARMAN, I was working with customers. Nearly 10 years later, I found an opportunity for my current position and was lucky enough to get the job.
What is the most important thing you have learned over your career?
- Keep your passion.
- Be a deep thinker.
- Always act positively.
Any other advice you would share with people just starting out in this industry?
Always thinking of solutions and actions to create a win-win situation. This helps us grow as a company.
What are you most proud of in your life?
My ability to show my professionalism with customers/vendors, and to build good relationships. This helps to make our daily operation run smoothly.
When did you realize you had a passion for music or audio? Was there any one band, song, or movie that did it for you?
I love listening to music even though I’m not good at singing. 😊
What current technology impresses you the most?
I do not have a technical background. For me the best experience was to enjoy the music in the showroom of the HARMAN Northridge office.
